Coronavirus Update

NECAT temporarily suspended programming on March 13, hoping that a closure though the end of the month would be sufficient.  We now understand that the “stay at home” order for all non-essential businesses in the Commonwealth has been extended to May 4th — so NECAT will remain closed indefinitely, and we will reopen only when the all clear is given from state public health officials and Governor Charlie Baker.

The NECAT team is working remotely and creatively to stay connected with students and alumni, providing all within our NECAT network the latest information on community resources and employment opportunities. With the support and encouragement of our Board, the NECAT staff is channeling its talent in new and creative ways, providing opportunities for on-line learning through multiple social media platforms.  We are building a library of culinary competency training videos on our YouTube page – we will share these with you through our website and Facebook so you can learn along with our students.

Finally, all staff will be available by phone or email throughout the suspension to students and all program partners on a regular NECAT schedule, Monday-Friday. See below for contact information.

We pledge to be back to our important mission as soon as possible.

Wishing everyone health and safety for you and your loved ones during this unprecedented crisis.
