Mayor Wu Appoints Maddrey Goode Chair of Boston’s Black Men and Boys Commission
We’re proud to congratulate NECAT Executive Director Maddrey Goode on his appointment as Chair of the City of Boston’s Black Men and Boys Commission. Maddrey’s leadership is rooted in years of community partnerships and public service — he previously served on the Commission and as Chief of Staff for the City’s Office of Black Male Advancement. His appointment is a meaningful step for Boston and organizations like NECAT, that share a commitment to opportunity, dignity, and economic mobility.
“I am honored to re-join the Black Men and Boys Commission as Chair,” Maddrey said. “As a life-long resident of Roxbury, ensuring that Black men and youth have access to equitable opportunities is of the utmost importance to me. The Commission’s work will focus on policy development and advocacy to ensure equity for our present and future Black citizens.”
At NECAT, we see every day how access to training, mentorship, and supportive networks changes lives. The Black Men and Boys Commission plays an important role in elevating policies and programs that advance health, safety, education, and pathways to careers for Black men and boys across the city. Maddrey’s track record of leadership, collaboration, and his deep relationships with community partners, will help build on this momentum.
